Adam Schwartz named to Forbes 30 under 30

Adam Schwartz (TEL ’08), COO and Co-Founder of BustedTees and TeePublic was recently recognized by Forbes as a 2016 Forbes 30 under 30 for retail and commerce. His companies are two of the web's leading e-retailers for t-shirts. Schwartz is also a co-founder of TheLoyalist.com, an e-commerce platform for youth sports.

Closing in on SuperWeek 2016

In collaboration with our College, journalists, storytellers, scholars, strategists and artists will gather at the end of this month to collaborate and build the field of digital journalism, social movements and the body of knowledge in communication, public interest communication and journalism. SuperWeek includes:
The CJC Research Symposium (Feb. 22) a forum for the presentation of research and debate in all areas of journalism, advertising, public relations, telecommunication and communication research.
frank2016 (Feb. 23-26) connects scholars, communicators and movement builders focused on social change. Speakers include Brian Sheehan, who led the fight for marriage equality in Ireland; storytelling guru Andy Goodman; and Eileen Boone, who made the decision to pull tobacco products from CVS stores.
Changeville (Feb. 23-26), a collaboration between frank and the city of Gainesville, this music and storytelling festival is the intersection where passionate filmmakers, digital media innovators, musicians and comics cross paths with professionals to drive position change.
frank(Scholar) (Feb. 26-27) is a first-ever gathering of scholars across academic disciplines to collaboratively cultivate research that ignites lasting behavioral, institutional and social change.
Journalism/interactive 2016 (Feb. 26-27) brings together scholars, practitioners, teachers and students to discuss the continually changing digital media space and the impact on journalism and journalism education.

Parse.ly CEO Sachin Kamdar offers insight
into audience analytics

Sachin Kamdar recently visited the College as the fifth speaker for The Innovators Series sponsored by the Knight Foundation. His company, Parse.ly, partners with digital publishers to provide audience insights through its analytics platform. Kamdar shared his perspective on teaching data analytics, helped students understand audience and content engagement and offered advice on innovation and entrepreneurship.
