📍 Business feature - your story

David Pearce of David Pearce Electrical Contractors stood by his van and the Sapcote village sign.
This month we spoke to David Pearce of David Pearce Electrical Contractors, a local firm based in Sapcote with a great reputation for providing first-rate electrical services including EV charging, lighting and so much more.

Let's hear from the man behind it all...

"From the ‘man and a van’ structure when I first started in 1992, David Pearce Electrical has grown and developed into one of the most established Electrical Contractors in the Blaby District Area.  Our office location at Fields Farm Business Centre, close to junction 2 of the M69, is perfect for easy access to Leicestershire, Warwickshire, across the Midlands and beyond, offering a nationwide service to our most valued customer base.

My loyal and dedicated workforce take great pride in paying attention to detail and they are determined to ensure that the customer’s needs are listened to and fully understood.  My contract management team are predominantly time-served electricians who have risen through the ranks to become the company's administrative core.

I believe the success of my business, over the last 30 years, has been achieved through maintaining good customer relationships, many of my clients have been with me right from the start.  My business philosophy is straightforward; keep it simple, communicate well, respect your clients and deliver as promised, exceeding their expectations wherever possible. As electrical professionals, we consider it our duty to ensure our clients are well informed and advised of their options, to allow an informed decision to be made.

Our focus at DPE is to provide our clients with a quality, value for money, energy-efficient electrical installation. Aiding companies to cut costs with the introduction of LED lighting is a prolific activity.  When providing lighting solutions, we source the most energy-efficient products without compromising on luminance levels. We endeavour to use LED products with long warranty periods, from accountable, established, manufacturers.  These factors allow clients to complete projects with the lowest possible lifetime cost of ownership and the shortest viable return on their investment.

DPE have provided commercial and residential Electric Vehicle charging solutions for many years now.  Our long-serving allegiance with several of the region’s motor dealers, resulted in us, providing them with EV charging provisions back in 2014.  In addition to 7kW AC Charging points, for our commercial clients, where a 3-phase electrical supply is accessible, we can also provide up to 22kW AC and 300kW DC Charging facilities. DC units can recharge vehicles to 80% in under 20 minutes.

All our EV charging solutions, whether AC or DC, can integrate load management, which ensures there are no incoming supply overload concerns.  Payment and operator/management integration tools provide clients with total control over who is using their charging infrastructure.  The Charge Point Operator tool (CPO) allows complementary, cost-neutral or revenue-generating charging services (or a combination of). DPE are approved installers of various EV charging brands and aim to design and provide each client with a flexible, expandable EV charging solution.  As OZEV approved installers, we can also assist customers in accessing appropriate grant funding where possible.

Our affiliation with the ECA and NICEIC is representative of our competence and accountability and provides peace of mind that we have a firm understanding of the industry and that our technical knowledge remains up to date."
