Welcome to Week Four!

We're half way through the course and we all really hope that you are enjoying it.  I know it's been a pretty heavy workload but it's just great to have so many resources available for you to learn from!

We hope you enjoyed Bob Gailey's books last week, we'll hear from him personally in week 5.  Until then, it's all about prosthetics and gait analysis this week.  You'll be pleased to hear that (I think) it is an easier week this week.

We hope that you enjoy week four!

Thank the course sponsor
Take a moment this week to thank the people who sponsored this course.  Without them we could not have made this course available for free.

CR Equipements produce good quality yet cost effective polypropelene prosthetic products.

Discussion forum
The Facebook discussion group is now closed to new members.

It was closed to new members at the end of week two so that the flow of the discussion forum wouldn't be disrupted.  Now that we are approaching week 4 we have to be very strict about this.  The Facebook group was open for registrations for 4 weeks giving everyone a chance to sign up.  I am very sorry that you missed out on this part of the course, you will however gain a lot of knowledge from working through the resources each week.
Accreditation by WCPT
We are delighted to confirm that the course has been accredited by the WCPT. On completion of the course you will receive 24 CEUs from the WCPT.

FREE access to more books
Don't forget you still have FREE access to the three books from their rehabilitation training series for the rest of the course:

They have also allowed you the unique opportunity to have your own reduced price PDF version of the books.  This offer is only available for the duration of the course!

Buy PDF version of all three books for £4.99 direct from Physiopedia

Additionally you might be interested to purchase the complimentary DVDs direct from Robert and Ann Gailey.

Week 6 case study
Some people have been asking about the week 6 case study, here is what you need to know:
  • The case study submission will be required to receive a certificate of completion.
  • We will not release full details of the case study until week 6
  • You will be expected to reflect on your learning over the past 5 weeks and apply this to a client example
  • If you currently don't have any clients with limb loss you may use one of the case study examples that we will provide
  • You will be expected to add some references to evidence in your submission
  • You will be expected to submit your completed case study by the end of week 6 (but you will be able to submit up until the end of week 7).
You are welcome to start thinking about this now!
  1. Set your own objectives.  Move at your own pace.
  2. Videos are optional. Where possible we have provided a text alternative.
  3. Stop, think and do, to make the most of this learning opportunity.
  4. Embrace the experience.  Always be courteous and polite, and be respectful of each other. If you know more than others, then please contribute and help others.
