Welcome to the first issue of IFOMPT Evidence Release

Below you will find your monthly round up of all the latest research in the areas of Spine, Extremities, Sports, Manual Therapy and Pain. In particular, look out for the Cochrane review on mechanical neck disorders, as well as several pain-related systematic reviews, among others. We also have a Special Interest Topic on Strength and Conditioning this month, read below for all the latest news, events and research on the topic.

Launching IFOMPT Evidence Release

In line with the request for up to date and topical information, IFOMPT will as of January 2015 be collaborating with Physiopedia to distribute “IFOMPT Evidence Release” to all the individual clinicians and members of the 22 IFOMPT Member Organisations and 9 RIGs.  Each month an updated edition will be sent to the MO and RIG representatives who will be encouraged to share it with their members.

Exciting progress made for ACL reconstruction surgery with internal bracing
International Netball players have regained pre-injury levels of function 12 weeks after ACL rupture has been treated with the internal brace. Former olympic skier Alain Baxter is making a remarkable recovery after his damaged anterior cruciate ligament was repaired with an Internal Brace. 
New publication: eLearning for undergraduate health professional education
The World Health Organization (WHO) and Imperial College London have collaborated to produce a publication that seeks to inform a radical transformation of health workforce development.
