Introducing Catholic Youth Parramatta's

“Elements” is an online initiative by Catholic Youth Parramatta which offers content for youth ministers to use in their respective parishes, schools and movements. It will be distributed monthly.
We look forward to seeing how Elements grows with you. If you wish to discuss the content of this initiative further, contact Qwayne on

The washing of the feet and the sacrament of the Eucharist: two expressions of one and the same mystery of love entrusted to the disciples, so that, Jesus says, “as I have done… so also must you do” (Jn 13: 15).
St. John Paul II

Holy Week

Holy Week is a particularly special time for Catholics. Holy Week is the week before Easter, beginning with Palm Sunday and ending on Holy Saturday, which is the day before Easter Sunday. It is the week we remember the sacrifice of God for the salvation of our souls. In the lead up to Holy Week, as we continue through Lent, we prepare ourselves for what is to come.

This edition of elements provides you with some resources that you may find helpful in your preparations for a youth meeting focusing on Holy Week.

Holy Role Models
St. Mary Magdalene is one of the greatest saints of the Bible and a legendary example of God's mercy and grace. The Gospels agree that Mary was originally a great sinner. Jesus cast seven demons out of her when he met her. After this, she told several women she associated with and these women also became followers. She was the first to see Jesus after the Resurrection.
Palm Sunday Walk
The Palm Sunday procession is open to all young people and their families. There will be a street procession from Parramatta Town Hall to the Cathedral where the WYD Panama Launch will held. We will be accompanied by Bishop Vincent. Bring your family and friends!
Music is a beautiful way in which we can engage in prayer. The Franciscan Friars of Renewal are a beautiful order of men following the way of St Francis. Check out their work online. Fr Tansi and Brother Isaiah share their talents to bring people closer to God. They can be found online by clicking the link below and by checking them out Spotify. Spotify is a free application where you can stream free music. You will need to create an account.
Good Friday Walk
This CYP event always draws a crowd. This year we are taking on a new route and we want to walk and pray with you. Register your group online today! This is a beautiful way for you to offer up your time to pray and be with God and people. Don't miss out! Click below for more information about the night.

Get Your Game On: You're a Shape!

This fun little activity will be sure to break any ice in your youth  ministry. This game is a great way for people to have a laugh, get to know each other and feel connected to others. There are different variation of this activity available online but we've linked you to one to get you started.
