Two County departments have new leaders.
New Director of Central Services
County Fire/CAL FIRE welcomes its new chief, Scott Jalbert, on April 1. Meanwhile, former Public Works administrator Will Clemens took the reigns as the director of the newly created Central Services Department on Feb. 1.

Watch: County Supervisors Approve Behavioral Health Hospital in Templeton

This month, the County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a behavioral health hospital and an assisted living facility in Templeton.


Desalination Project Moves Forward

The Board of Supervisors also approved a request for $900,000 from San Luis Obispo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Reserves to fund the planning phase for the Diablo Canyon Desalination Project.


County Libraries to Hold Food Drive, Forgive Fines for National Library Week

San Luis Obispo County public libraries are again celebrating National Library Week by helping to end hunger in our community. Food 4 Fines week takes place April 11 – 16 at all San Luis Obispo County Public Library branches.

Property Taxes Due

The second installment of this fiscal year's property taxes was due on Feb. 1, but April 11 is the last day to pay the second installment without penalties. The County tax collector urges people to pay early to avoid the possibility of the mandatory 10% penalty for a late payment.
