Annual General Meeting 2016
I am writing you all to announce that the process to renew the ECPC Board and the ECPC Audit Committee has officially began.
2016 started with a great achievement for ECPC. As of January, we are officially a Belgian international association. The process of transferring the siege of ECPC from the Netherlands to Belgium is finally over. The new statute, as approved by you during the last AGM in Brussels, together with its French translation, are available on the "Statute'' section of our website. This closes one of the most important achievements of the current Board: we have finally simplified the management of our association. The new Board will inherit a better organised financial structure and a unified legal framework.
The 2016 Elections will be the first to be organised under the rules of the new statute. Our Office has put together all the necessary information and material to run the elections as approved during the Board meeting on the 23rd of January. In this email you will find all the info you need to exercise your right as ECPC Members.
Guide to the Elections 2016

All the info you need, in one place
To guarantee maximum transparency of the process, we have created a new section on our website where you can access all the information related to the elections: the ECPC Elections Hub (click here). All updates will be sent to you via email and posted also on the ECPC Elections Hub.
Also, all documents related to the Elections will be made available on the website. If you missed any information, you will be able to find it on the Elections Hub.
If you have any question related to the election process, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Election process
In June we will renew the Board and the Audit Committee. From today, you can present your candidatures for 7 new Board Members and 3 Audit Committee Members to replace the current ones. To facilitate the process, you can submit your candidatures via email using the dedicated forms. You have one month to send us the candidatures. Once the candidatures have been processed and validated by the Board, ECPC will publish the official list of candidates and the voting will start.
For the first time in ECPC history, you can also present your nomination for the ECPC Scientific Committee, which will help the new Board to stay up to date with the developments in cancer research. Each ECPC Member can indicate a researcher, a doctor or any healthcare professional working in cancer who has demonstrated to know the real needs of cancer patients. We will collect all the nominations and the new Board will be in charge of creating the new Scientific Committee in September 2016.
But that is not all: to facilitate the interaction between the ECPC Members and the Office, ECPC has just hired a new Community Manager, Anna. She will be in charge of our internal communication, providing you information about ECPC projects and the election process, and helping the Board and the Office to get closer to you. Feel free to contact Anna at +3223420104, via Skype (id: anna.rek.ecpc) and via email at email@example.com .
The AGM Agenda
The AGM 2016 will not be just about the Elections. We are aiming at making the ECPC AGM not only the largest cancer patients' gathering in Europe (which we achieved in Bucharest in 2014 and in Brussels in 2015), but also one of the best patient-centered conference worldwide. For this reason, we are working hard to put together an interesting agenda, which will touch upon the most relevant policy and advocacy issues for cancer patients in Europe. You can find the draft agenda clicking here. Registration will start soon.
A final word
The Elections 2016 represent your chance to contribute directly to the wellness and development of ECPC, but most importantly to make ECPC a stronger and more reliable organisation.
I strongly encourage you not to miss the chance to make your voice heard within your association.
