     This Month in Massage News...

Right on time, a period of reflection is invoked by the new year after dust settles from the whir of all the seasonal & year-end delights. We slowly begin to see our days hold more light as Winter cycles on and we start to think about how we might want to improve, moving forward, within certain areas of our lives.

It's a fantastic time to set goals related to health and to begin implementing the routines they inspire. Whether it's getting back into shape, better maintaining stress levels or boosting preventative measures against illness this season, massage is the perfect complement to keeping this year's healthy intentions.

Getting into a rhythm with bodywork not only supports a healthier lifestyle, it also helps to make massage appointments more efficient. As we re-train muscle fiber memory and prevent layers of built-up tension through regularly scheduled treatments we will truly make the most of our efforts, ultimately helping you to better achieve your goals.

To help make your path to accomplishment a little smoother and more accessible, I've included some ideas below on how I may be of service during this crucial time of assembly.

Yours in Wellness,

Danielle Lee, LMT

Over the course of time I have come to recognize that some clients may consistently find it a bit of a stretch to make it in for a massage during or right after your work hours during the week. To help alleviate those scheduling obstacles I have committed to opening up shop roughly every other Saturday morning from 9am-1pm. January 31st, February 14th & February 28th are the dates I currently have available and on deck. These spots will fill up fast so be sure to snag one right away if you want one!
Bringing Massage to You: Last month I had a fabulous time providing chair massage at a couple of employee holiday parties as a thank you from their employers for all their efforts and hard work put in throughout the year. I was honored to have the opportunity to demonstrate how the benefits of a 10 or 15-minute massage can go a long way, especially during a break from a long work day! It is a known fact that happy, revived workers boost the productivity & efficiency levels of any work environment. Chair massage in the workplace is a great way to fit in spot-treatments for areas of repetitive use as well as eliminate the extra step of making a trip over to my office. I have a booking minimum of one hour for this so gather your co-workers together and let me know when I can come by to confirm a time and drop off a sign-up sheet.

Just 3 more weeks until our next "Massage for Sweethearts" workshop! It will be held on Friday, February 13th at TaborSpace (5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215, from 6:30-8:30pm in The Annex. Partners will learn simple massage techniques they can give and receive at home for relaxation of the neck/shoulders, back & feet. Following the demo of each section, partners will have time to practice with each other while instructors stay available for individual assistance. Take-home massage cream, class materials and snacks will be provided. $50 per couple. Contact Danielle Lee, LMT to register at 503.481.9491 or
