Message from the owners:
After two years since the beginning of our touristic experience, it is with great pleasure that we observe that our efforts have been rewarded with a huge success, measured not only by the increasing number of guests we receive, but especially by the excellent feedback that most of them provide about the time spent in Monte Velho.

Several improvements were made during the last winter, particularly in the common areas, service areas, stables and infrastructure for the equestrian activity. We’ve increased the number and the level of training of the horses, now providing a set of options that allows a wider choice and adapted to different skill level of the riders. We have increased and perfected our team of professionals, which now has better conditions to provide the best service to all guests. We have also organized a set of programs to provide non-riders an interesting time, from a cultural point of view, gastronomic or leisure.

Our ambition is to continue improving and be able to provide to all who visit us a fantastic time, without losing the atmosphere, which, by being at the same time sophisticated and familiar, makes us unique. Our greatest motivation is your enthusiasm. We like to share it with you!

With our best regards,
Margarida e Diogo de Lima Mayer

Our competition horses with great performance in the Vilamoura CDI 3*

Between the 10-12th of April our team has moved to the South of Portugal (Algarve) to compete in the most important dressage show of this season. Our two bred bay stallions Equador MVL and Esporim MVL competed with many warmbloods and other top horses and did an amazing job.

Equador MVL ridden by João Torrão has competed for the first time in the FEI 6 Y.O tests, scoring 76,4% and 73,2%, achieving the best score of the whole show among the Lusitanos. Equador MVL was evaluated by International judges Susan Hoevenaars (Austria), Francis Verbeek-van Rooy (Nederlands) and Cara Whitham (Canadá) who were particularly astonished with his canter and gave a constructive feedback to improve towards the future.

Esporim MVL ridden by Francisco Silva won the Medium Tests for 6 Y.O horses on both days! Congratulations to Elisabeth Berglund, Lene Carlson and Ingela Wiking for such an amazing project you're developing with our bred stallion.

Well done boys!

Coralie Baldrey joins Monte Velho's team permanently

Following his ambtition to launch his own riding facility, we're sad to announce that Francisco Silva is leaving Monte Velho, having moved to Almada-Lisbon, at Quinta da Virgem Macarena. Francisco has been part of our team for more than 2 years, having done an outstanding job with our horses and clients. Francisco will continue his collaboration with Monte Velho as much as possible, being part of our family.

We wish Francisco all the luck on his new project!

We're also thrilled to announce that Coralie Baldrey joins Monte Velho's team permanantly as the Head-Instructor for our clients. Coralie received her initial dressage training at the famous Cadre Noir of Saumur in France and has since been taught by some of the best riders of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. More recently she has received regular coaching from various internationally renowned trainers, riders and judges such as Daniel Pinto and Kyra Kyrklund.

Hope to see you soon...

With Love from Monte Velho's team
