Pitopito Kōrero

Libraries are really important for our community and we’re taking action to keep them open as much as possible while COVID-19 is in the community. However, things can change at short notice as the Omicron outbreak impacts staffing or our ability to safely provide all programmes and services.

A reminder, Nelson is still recording significant numbers of cases of COVID-19 per day, so wearing an effective mask when inside is a really important measure to protect our community. Thanks!

Please check our website or Facebook page for the most up-to-date information. We can be reached at library@ncc.govt.nz or on (03) 546 8100 if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay safe and well out there; kia kaha.

Events and Programmes Calendar

Op Shop Fashion Challenge

In the lead up to Ethically Kate joining us via Zoom for a talk at Elma Turner Library on 25 May at 12.30pm, we are holding an Op Shop Fashion Challenge on Instagram!

Submit a photo of your favourite op shop outfit by emailing the photo to library@ncc.govt.nz or by tagging @nelsonpubliclibraries on Instagram. Feel free to share where you scored your items from! Entries will be judged by Kate Hall at the end of the Zoom talk.

Bookings are required for the Zoom talk with Kate Hall. Join us in person at Elma Turner Library or watch from home (please email us to arrange this option).

Device Advice at Victory Community Centre

Thursday 5 May, 9.30 - 11.30am

We're coming to you!

You might be familiar with our regular Device Advice sessions held at the library - a chance for you to drop-in with your device (phone, tablet, laptop, e-reader, or other) and get some one-to-one help.

We're excited to be spending some time at Victory Community Centre, helping to answer device queries. Pop in to see us and pick up some new skills or get an answer to that question that's been bugging you.

Please let friends and whānau who might need a bit of extra help with their device know about this event.

Rainbow reads for Pride Week

We are celebrating Nelson Pride Week with some great rainbow reads: fiction, non-fiction, and young adult. Check out our display next time you're at Elma Turner or pop over to the book blog on our website for a list of our favourites.
