Project ReCharge Funded for 2017-2018 Academic Year!

Program Expanded into 7 New Schools with a Reach of 1,000 New Students 

Envirolution is excited to announce that thanks to the Nevada Department of Education Math/Science Partnership Grant- our Project ReCharge program will expand into 7 new schools next year! Together with our partners from UNR, Washoe County School District, Carson City School District and Nevada Regional Professional Development Program, we will train 35 new teachers and engage 1,000 new students with our interactive energy education program.

April is Earth Month!

Envirolution in the Community

Envirolution staff and volunteers will be outdoors during the month of April helping to beautify our earth and participating in several community events including exhibiting at the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation Healthy Parks Healthy People Event on April 8, cleanup of their Adopt-a-Spot -- Pickett Park on April 15, and the Earth Day event at Idlewild Park on April 23.  Come see us in the Nature Zone.  Let us know if you would like to volunteer at any of these events.

Healthy Parks Healthy People Day is Saturday, April 8th!

Bartley Ranch Regional Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.


Celebrate regional parks and public lands.  There is a 5K fun run and walk begins at 9 a.m. A Free IK Kids fun run starts at 10 a.m. Land managers, non-profits, and outdoor businesses will showcase how they enhance the environment and lives of the greater Reno community.

Pickett Park Cleanup on April 15


We are looking for volunteers to help beautify Pickett Park, Envirolution's Adopt a spot on Saturday, April 15 from 10am-12pm.  Enjoy a beautiful morning outdoors and help Reno celebrate April's earth day festivities.  
UNR students can receive volunteer hours through UNR's GivePulse program.

Reno Earth Day is April 23

Find Us in the Nature Zone at Idlewild


The Reno Earth Day Celebration will be held this year on Sunday, April 23rd from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm at Idlewild Park in Reno. This event is FREE and open to the public.  Each year, there are new activities and programs to increase knowledge on caring for the planet we share that carries over into everyday practices. Enjoy several stages with local live music and dance, food and drinks, and games and prizes for everyone.

Caitlin Lynch

Envirolution Social Media Intern


Help us welcome Caitin who is Envirolution's New Social Media Intern. Caitlin is a junior at University of Nevada, Reno studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation.  She is a member of the UNR Student Ambassadors who are honors students that volunteer 5-7 hours a month to help prospective students make an informed decision on their college choice. Caitlin will be making several social media posts about environmental topics on Envirolution's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.

Ryan Bernadett, a Freshman at UNR, is teaming with Caitlin Lynch to write an environmental blog for Envirolution. Ryan is passionate about the environment. In Spring of 2016, he taught an elementary school class about water conservation in California. He was an active member in the EcoNU environmental club at his high school, where they conducted river cleanups, raised $30,000 for new recycling bins, and helped to revamp the cafeteria food to healthier, local options. We look forward to hearing from Ryan and Caitlin.
 
Envirolution Announces its Year End Recognition event for Project ReCharge.   Project ReCharge staff, partners, teachers, administrators, students, parents and community members involved with Project ReCharge will be invited to attend.  

The event takes place on Wednesday, May 31st from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center, Powered by Switch.

This years top student driven energy efficiency and sustainability proposals will be showcased and prizes awarded.
