This past weekend, we did something a little zany. We went and pet sat at a stranger's house, in exchange for free lodging! A pack of 4 silly dogs were our companions as we looked out over the Smokey Mountains and explored the national park, isn't that fun? We walked behind a waterfall, spotted salamanders, slugs, and bugs, and had a great time amongst the wildflowers.
BUT our spontaneous adventure means I will be scurrying this week to get things done! I have some tie dye (are you a fan?), and some tote bag tutorials on the docket and I can't wait to show you the fabric I'm using for the latter!!
What did you work on this past week? I'd love to hear about it, just hit reply!
PS- We used a website to coordinate the pet sit, this is my referral link if you want to check it out or email me back to ask questions. I share our travel & hiking pictures on this instagram account!

Summer is getting closer here in the western hemisphere! I've never tried sewing my own swimsuit but I keep thinking about it - check out this list of women's swimwear sewing patterns that I compiled! It includes some cool freebies and a variety of sizes and styles, in the post.
Last week I shared project ideas, this week I'm sharing tips and resources! This post has general tips for working with kids and specific online classes and tangible books to check out too - go see more here.
From the archives: I don't know who needs to read this, but looking at other people's sewing projects for a long time can be draining, not energizing! Put down your phone and start making something for yourself - and hang this on your wall to remind you! Check it out in the post.
Reader make: I am feeling so guilty because I can't find the instagram handle of who made these adorable shirts!! If it is you, please tell me, and I am so sorry, I saved the photo and lost the link. She used the free dump truck applique you can see in this post, I don't see it pop up super frequently so this was a delight!
Interesting things from around the Internet:
I really enjoyed this intersection of travel & sewing, with a blog post about Manx Quilting.
