Update from NEWIN Executive Director
My name is Marcus Oliver Gay and I am excited to write to you today to introduce myself as the new Executive Director for NEWIN. I'm honored to hold this position and will strive to continue the great work that Karen Golmer has been driving as Executive Director for the past few years. In this role, I look forward to helping you and your organization succeed, please do reach-out and let me know how we can help you.
Within the context of Water-Innovation, NEWIN has three foundational beliefs that will continue to guide us.
Water issues require innovation - there are significant unmet local, regional, national and global water challenges that NEWIN members will address
Water innovation is often slow and risk adverse - time to market can be measured in decades and faces significant technical and market based commercialization challenges
Local innovations will have a global impact - New England has an unrivaled combination of intellectual horse-power and industry expertise that can be applied to both local and global challenges
Our success relies upon you continued support and engagement.
Over the next six months, my team will be reaching out to update membership status, enroll participants within relevant programs and coordinate a number of events for you to connect with others in our community. For your reference, please note the following events that we have planned:
August 17th – NEWIN Water Pitch Night – Focus on Nitrogen & Coastal Water Quality
September 25th – 28th – NEWIN @ WEFTEC – Coordinate a meeting
October 12th – NEWIN Water Pitch Night – Focus on Water IT and Analytics
October 24th – NEWIN-WPI – Water-Innovation Workshop
November 18th – 19th – NEWIN-MIT Water Summit
My colleague Joy O'Neill, head of Membership Services, will be reaching out in the near-future with more information on these events. In the interim, if you have any questions, I encourage you to contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
