You’ll be given some helpful information about what to expect and how to prepare for the start of school, but the highlight of the evening involves travelling to each of the Kindergarten classrooms with other Kindergarten families to meet the teachers and participate in some classroom activities. Participants head home with a bag full of educational goodies and resources courtesy of The Learning Partnership.

Author Visits
This week, Wilkinson Library is proud to host two authors. The first author visit is on the morning of Thursday, May 12th. Wilkinson will welcome Alex A., Canadian author and illustrator of the Jon le Bon graphic novel series. Alex A’s presentation will be for the grades 3 and 4 classes and will take place in the library from 10:25 - 11:25 am. His presentation will showcase his incredible art work and the story of Super Agent Jon le Bon. It will be a highly engaging and quite hilarious presentation! The first four books in the series have recently been translated into English, from the original French, with more to come. The library has copies of both the French and English versions.

The second author visit is on the morning of Friday, May 13th. As a part of TD Canadian Children’s Book Week, author and mystery writer Marty Chan visits with the grade 4 classes from 9:00 - 10:00 am and then with the grades 5 and 6 classes from 10:25 - 11:25 am. He is best known for his very funny Marty Chan Mystery Series and will share the creative spark behind his books and plays. The library has a number of Marty Chan titles.
