Happy Monday, Wilkinson! Today is Day 5. Here is your weekly rundown of what's happening this week.  

Ward 15 Forum: French Language Learning in the TDSB
Parents are invited to join Ward 15 Trustee, Jennifer Story, for a forum on French Language Learning in the TDSB on Thursday, January 26th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The session will be held at Morse Street Junior Public School at 180 Carlaw Ave.

Light refreshments and child-minding will be available. You may register for updates on TDSB news, community events and resources directly from Ward 15 Trustee Jennifer Story.  

Extended French Program Application
Applications for Junior Extended French are completed online the year your child is in Grade 3 for entry in Grade 4. Before visiting the website, locate your child's 9-digit OEN (found on any report card). The registration deadline for the 2017/18 school year is on Thursday, February 2nd. 

First Nations School: Open House
The First Nations Junior and Senior School of Toronto (FNST) is holding an open house on Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 pm. The school is located at 16 Phin Ave. Learn more about FNST at the event Facebook page

Junior & Primary Choirs at TDSB Music Festival
The Junior & Primary Choirs will perform in a non-competitive music festival at the Bickford Centre as part of the TDSB Music Festival. The Juniors will participate on Wednesday, February 1st and the Primary Choir will take part Thursday, February 2nd. More details are available on the Wilkinson Music website

Reminder: 2017 Kindergarten Registration
Children born in 2013 will start Kindergarten in September! Kindergarten registration for 2017-2018 will be held in the mornings on February 21-23. Please see this flyer for more information, and schedule an appointment time for registration by calling the office at (416) 393-9575.

Reminder: ETT Information Session
The Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) local is hosting an "Ask a Teacher" on Thursday, January 26th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the S. Walter Stewart Library at 170 Memorial Park Avenue. Download this flyer for more information. Children are welcome!

Pizza Lunch Registration
Pizza lunch sign-up forms for students in Grades 1-6 are on the way home. If the dog or your child's backpack ate your copy, fear not! You can download another one

Forms and funds will be collected outside Room 3 on January 24-26 from 8:15 to 9:00 am. January 26, 2017, is the last day to submit forms and payment. 

Please note: Teachers and office staff cannot accept these forms. Payments can be made by cash (exact change greatly appreciated!) or by cheque payable to "Wilkinson School Community Council." 

2017 Derby Registration
To save you a trip, registrations for the 2017 Wood Car Derby will also be held outside Room 3 on January 24-26 from 8:15 to 9:00 am. Car kits are $10 each, and money raised at this event will go towards helping the parent council fund important school initiatives. Learn more about the derby and get ready to unleash your creativity!

Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a satellite registration site at Dandylion as planned. 

Movie Night on Friday: Pete's Dragon
Join us in the gym this Friday, January 27th, 2017, at 7:00 pm for a showing of Pete's Dragon. If you're planning to attend, please take a moment to review important safety information for movie night. Thank you!
