Happy Monday, Wilkinson! Today is Day 5. Here is your rundown of what's happening this week.  

French Performance of Three Little Pigs

Grade 4 Core French students put on separate performances of their French play, "Trois Petits Cochons," for students and parents and guardians last week. Congratulations to the students and their families who support them as they tackle a new language. C'est fantastique!


ADHD Parent Readiness Education Program (PREP) Workshop
The Centre for ADHD Awareness is hosting a workshop for parents of children newly diagnosed with ADHD. ADHD PREP is a comprehensive 12-hour program geared to parents of newly diagnosed children and adolescents with ADHD, and to parents wishing to upgrade their knowledge on the more complex aspects of ADHD including ADHD and learning, executive functioning and self and mood regulation.

Treatment options, parenting strategies and advocacy skills will also be covered. See the attached flyer for more information

Reminder: Extended French Program Application
Applications for Junior Extended French are completed online the year your child is in Grade 3 for entry in Grade 4. Before visiting the website, locate your child's 9-digit OEN (found on any report card). The registration deadline for the 2017/18 school year is on Thursday, February 2nd. 

Reminder: FNST Open House
The First Nations Junior and Senior School of Toronto (FNST) is holding an open house on Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 pm. The school is located at 16 Phin Ave. Learn more about FNST at the event Facebook page

Music Program Updates
Junior & Primary Choir at TDSB Music Festival
The Junior and Primary Choirs will be participating in the TDSB music festival this week. The festival takes place at the Bickford Centre, at 777 Bloor St. W. The junior choir will be singing on Wednesday, February 1 at 12:30-2:15 pm and the primary choir will be singing on Thursday, February 2 at 12:30-2:15 pm. Anybody is welcome to attend. TDSB Music by the Lake Camp for Grade 6 Students
Grade 6 students who are in choir or band may apply to attend the TDSB “Music By the Lake” music camp. This is an overnight camp that takes place June 3 to 10, 2017 at Camp Wahanowin which is near Lake Couchiching, approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto. Applications are done online at the camp website.

Toronto Choral Society Children's Choir
The Toronto Choral Society Children’s Choir is welcoming children in grades 2-6. This choir rehearses on Thursday nights in the Danforth and Carlaw area. For more information, see their website.

Health & Physical Education (HPE) Program
Parents are reminded that students must have proper footwear every day to participate in gym and daily physical activities.

Derby Car Cut-Out Night
There are still spaces available for the derby car cut-out night on Friday, February 10th. Learn more about the event and complete the registration form to participate. If your child planning to take part but did not get a derby kit, please let us know
