TITLE I STATUS (AND FUNDS) IN JEOPARDY!
From Mrs. Kadera:
On Friday afternoon, I met with the Executive Director of Title I. During that meeting, I learned that our percent of students who qualify for free and reduced has declined to a point that we could lose our Title I status. This is very worrisome as we stand to lose a significant amount of federal funds that support our students and staff.

These funds help pay for one of our counselors, our Instructional Specialist, our intervention teachers, supplies and professional development for teachers, and parent involvement activities.

Please take the time to submit your application for free or reduced lunch as soon as possible. If you qualify, your family not only receives support with breakfast and lunch, but also reduced fees for athletics and other extra-curricular needs.

Your application can be submitted online at Free and Reduced meal applications online. If you need help completing the application, please contact Leticia Pereda, our Community Specialist at lpereda@susd.org, or your child’s guidance counselor. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you to all of you who were able to participate in parent teacher conferences on Friday, October 23! Ingleside teachers engaged in 995 conferences. If you were unable to connect with your child’s teachers and still wish to conference, please reach out to the teachers to request a conference.

I need your help with a safety concern. At the end of the day, students are not using the crosswalks to exit campus, and many are running across the street at the entrance of the parking lot to get into their parents’ cars. Unfortunately, there are many drivers that become angry with waiting and drive a bit erratically to get around the lines. I am concerned that a student may get hit by a car if we do not require them to use the crosswalks. Your help with this is appreciated!

We still have many 2019-2020 yearbooks that have not been picked up by students. If you purchased a yearbook last year, and have not yet received it, please remind your child to come to the office before or after school to pick it up.

Please be sure that your contact information and all your emergency contacts’ information in Synergy is current and updated as needed. We must be able to reach someone very quickly should your child begin to exhibit COVID-19 symptoms or have been identified as a close contact and need to be quarantined.

Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions, please contact me.

In partnership,
Erin Kadera
