Dear Ingleside Families,

What an amazing first week back to in-person and EDL learning! Ingleside is just not the same without the hustle and bustle of our students, so I am grateful we are back! Hopefully, the revised bell schedule is going well for your family. I have heard a significant number of positive responses but need to know if there are challenges as well.

The counselors virtually visited our current 6th and 7th graders during Social Studies classes on Thursday, January 21 to explain the registration process and answer questions.

The individual Google Form links were sent out last Friday. The Google Form includes all potential elective offerings for each individual grade level so please be sure that your child completes the correct grade level form. It is important to remind everyone that the elective offerings are not guaranteed; classes have to “make” with enough enrollment in order for us to offer them to students. Each student gets 2.0 credits of electives for the year. This can be a combination of semester and yearlong electives. On the form, following each elective choice, you will see whether it is a .5 credit (semester) or 1.0 credit (yearlong). We request that a parent complete this online Google Form with their child so that decisions are made together and agreed upon. The electronic form will collect email addresses and can only be submitted once. I encourage you to use the paper version of the elective worksheet as a planning document, so the Google Form is easier to complete when final decisions are made.

I am excited to share with our community that two Ingleside 8th graders, Savanah S. and Luke A., were winners of ASU’s 2021 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Contest. Both students wrote winning essays about people in their lives that are leaders. They were honored at the Governing Board meeting on January 19 and presented with a 20-21 Challenge Coin. I am so proud of both of these students and grateful to Mr. Wagner and Ms. Doan for encouraging our students to participate in this wonderful opportunity.

Reminder…The Ingleside website provides 24-hour access to the most up-to-date information. The announcements and calendar sections not only include important district information, but also the latest happenings at Ingleside. Please take time to check it out on a regular basis so you are always in the know.

Ingleside’s picture retake/make-up day is scheduled for February 2, 2021 for all new, returning, and EDL students. This is the latest we can have pictures taken and still have them be in the 2020-2021 Ingleside yearbook. All students who do not currently have an ID will get one on this day. Please make sure this date is on your calendar!

Having completed my first semester as Interim Principal here at Ingleside, I continue to reflect daily on my personal and professional strengths and weaknesses. I consistently observe and evaluate what is happening across campus and in our classrooms. One of my professional goals is celebrating our strengths and acknowledging our failures. As I reflected with my boss on my year so far, I believe we have way more celebrations than failures. I believe this is because of our dedicated and focused staff and YOU, our families. Thank you for supporting us during these challenging times! Next week, I will be sharing a Google Form to seek feedback and thoughts on our strengths, challenges, celebrations, and failures. Please be thinking this week so you can provide honest feedback on the survey. Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions, please contact me.

In partnership,
Erin Kadera, Proud Interim Ingleside Principal

Our percent of students who qualify for free and reduced has declined to a point that we could lose our Title I status.
  • These funds help pay for one of our counselors, our Instructional Specialist, our intervention teachers, supplies and professional development for teachers, and parent involvement activities.
Your application can be submitted online at Free and Reduced meal applications online.
  • If you qualify, your family not only receives support with breakfast and lunch, but also reduced fees for athletics and other extra-curricular needs.
Please use a computer -- not a phone -- to complete the application.  (The website doesn't work smoothly on a phone...)

If you need help completing the application, please contact Leticia Pereda, our Community Specialist at, or your child’s guidance counselor. Your help is greatly appreciated!
