ValleyFEST is coming Thursday, June 9th!
3:00-9:00pm on the Village Green

Join us on the SoRo Green for a celebration of all things local. Now in its sixth year, ValleyFest is a positive, family-friendly regional event that celebrates what makes our White River Valley communities special. Featuring musical entertainment by the BALE Jam and the South Royalton Town Band; educational "local living" workshops; the Arts Bus, face-painting and other children's activities; a community plant swap; used book sale; the Royalton Farmer's Market; art and craft vendors under the big tent on the green; and more! The Lion's Club will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs and the Red Door Church will be selling strawberry shortcake.

Register for a table at ValleyFEST!
Do you have arts & crafts to sell? Are you affiliated with a local business, non-profit, church, or community group? The 2016 Summer Reading Program starts right after school ends!

Children in grades k-5 can sign up at the library to track their minutes of reading throughout the summer. With reading records, certificates, bookmarks, stickers, and enthusiasm, the summer reading program inspires students to keep their momentum going all summer long. During the Summer Reading months the library offers weekly thematic activities. We are very excited to welcome back Michael Clough and his live animal presentation to kick off our summer reading series.

Tuesday, June 21st, 10:00 - 11:00am
Animal Athletes with Michael Clough of the Southern Vt. Natural History Museum

This interactive program will look at the amazing physical feats some of our local wildlife are able to perform. We will then compare our own abilities to see if we have what it takes to be an animal athlete! Can we jump as high as a deer? Can we run as fast as a coyote? Artifacts, live animals and more will help us explore these amazing abilities and compare them to the incredible qualities of the human animal as well! Be ready to move and run for this program!

Stay tuned for Summer Reading events happening every week and culminating with a reading awards pizza party in August! The Summer Reading Program is designed for children in grades k-5 but all are welcome!

Thanks to Jennifer and Travis Ingraham and Paula Smith for cleaning up the library's flower beds and planting flowers!

For a meaningful legacy of learning and opportunity for future generations, please consider the Royalton Memorial Library when estate planning.
