LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Greetings from brisk New York City. I hope you all had happy holidays and a relaxing break.
As usual, our marketing faculty has spent their fall term working on various research projects. Under the Research section, you can read summaries of some of the selected publications of my colleagues, with topics ranging from financial vulnerability to quantity surcharges in online shopping to collaborative economy.

Developing new courses and immersion tours on cutting-edge topics is something that our faculty continuously works on. You can read about one such brand-new immersion tour on Applied Design Thinking under the Teaching section.

As part of Gabelli School of Business’ emphasis on social innovation, we organized the Interdisciplinary Social Innovation Thought Leadership Conference in November 2018. You can read more about this event under the Hot Topics section.

Our marketing area will continue to host different events, workshops, and conferences in 2019, including Let’s Talk About Service (LTAS) Workshop, The Second Global Conference on Creating Value, and the Global Business Anthropology Conference. You can read about these and other events under the Hot Topics section.

As always, please accept this e-newsletter as an open invitation to share your ideas or suggestions for possible collaborations and joint projects with our area and/or individual faculty members. You can always contact me at If you happen to be in New York City, feel free to stop by our campus and say "hi."
