Dear FNAME,
I am pleased to share the latest edition of the Marketing Area Newsletter!
My colleagues continue to conduct cutting-edge and relevant research. For example, Dr. Hoori Rafieian’s coauthored paper was accepted for publication in the Journal of Marketing Research. Another paper coauthored by Dr. Marina Carnevale and Dr. Luke Kachersky was accepted for publication in the Journal of Consumer Psychology. In addition, Dr. Sertan Kabadayi’s coauthored paper recently received the best paper award from the Journal of Service Research.
The marketing area continues to provide outstanding extra-curricular opportunities to our students. Our MS in Marketing Intelligence students completed nine projects this summer for leading companies such as McCann Worldgroup, Medidata Solutions, Mindshare, QWASI Technology, and WebMD. We regularly organize coached competitions in which students develop innovative approaches to real-world challenges. Marketing faculty and industry leaders guide students through workshops and provide one-on-one coaching throughout these activities, including the Gabelli School Branding Competition and the “Marketing with a Purpose” initiative for St. Barnabas Hospital, a local hospital in The Bronx.
We are delighted to welcome three new full-time colleagues. Aniko Delaney brings 30+ years of experience across eight businesses, three acquisitions, and six continents, serving as the Chief Marketing Officer and Global Head of Corporate Marketing at BNY Mellon. Dr. Seoyoung Kim completed her PhD at the University of Georgia and studies how the digital revolution is disrupting markets, brands, and consumers. Dr. Zhe Han earned his PhD from Emory University and holds two MS degrees, bringing expertise in the quantitative areas of marketing.
I am grateful to our distinguished industry speakers, Shane McAndrew, the Global Chief Data Strategy & Analytics Officer at Mindshare, and Ellen Zaleski, the Global Director of AdTech at
Dell Technologies, for sharing the latest industry advances with us this Fall.
Please contact me at mnejad@fordham.edu or any marketing area faculty if you have ideas for collaboration with our area.
Warm regards,
Mohammad G. Nejad
