SPRING 2016        MARKETING AREA NEWSLETTER

LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Colleagues,

It is hard to believe that another academic year has ended! My marketing colleagues were busy this entire academic year producing and publishing rigorous, relevant research with impact. You can see summaries of some of the selected publications under the Research section.

In the past, our marketing area offered undergraduate and graduate academic immersions in China, Turkey, U.K. and France, among others. Recently, we expanded our horizons with new destinations. Under the Teaching section, you can read about our tours to Galway, Ireland, and Tokyo, Japan. Our students report a great appreciation for these global experiential learning opportunities.

Our area launched a series of Industry Talks this year to further emphasize our focus on applied, hands-on learning. You can read more about this series under the Teaching section.

We started a new collaboration with MediaMeth-New Marketing Institute to offer our students full-day workshops on digital marketing, upon successful completion of which they earn two certificates. You can find details under the Hot Topics section.

Finally, as I announced in our last e-newsletter, we kicked off the Moral Table, a platform for collaborative work shedding light on the role of morality in the marketplace. Read about this collaboration with Boston College in the Events section.

The month of May means graduation. We are very proud to see our students complete their degrees and leave Fordham ready to pursue their dreams in the United States, China, India, Vietnam, Turkey, or wherever they may go. Congratulations, Class of 2016!

If you happen to be in New York City over the summer, please feel free to stop by and say 'hello' at either of our campuses, either the beautiful Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, next to the Bronx Zoo and the Botanical Gardens, or the Lincoln Center campus in the heart of Manhattan next to the Central Park.

As always, please accept this e-newsletter as an open invitation to share your ideas or suggestions for possible collaborations and joint projects with our area and/or individual faculty members. I am pleased to announce that the marketing faculty bio handbook is now available.

Have a productive and relaxing summer.

Best Regards,
Sertan Kabadayi, PhD
