BlacKkKlansman

2018 - R - 135 mins - CC - DVS

From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the true story of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, he sets out on a dangerous mission to infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective recruits a more seasoned colleague into the undercover investigation.  Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream.

For all its revelations of racist rot at the core of American society, Lee also offers a clear, specific and wondrous, if wary, view of change that's possible because, at one time and to some extent, it actually happened.
