Eight Local Artists, eclectic art show, at CAW
September 2, 2021 through September 29, 2021
Open by appointment until September 29. 


REMEDY is a collective and self-curated exhibition of eight Santa Barbara artists—Tony Askew, Angela Holland, Dan Levin, Michael Long, Perry Hoffman, Dug Uyesaka, Frank Whipple, and Sue Van Horsen. The show encompasses a wide variety of disciplines including: assemblage, collage, mosaic , photography, digital design, printmaking and contemporary folk art.

REMEDY is about the moment, the space, and our visitors stopping in to see the show. We all are part of the REMEDY.

Artist Talk 9/22 5-8pm, Starts at 6pm. Masks required.

Creativity Rx: Workshop Series for Creative Action

Why Creativity?  Because the world needs more you! 
Wednesdays, 9/29 - 11/3, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at the CAW

Do you need more time and space for creativity? Do you have great ideas that don’t get executed? Did you know: Creativity has positive effects on well-being, health, and resilience? Group support increases the likelihood of fulfilling goals?

This weekly group workshop is for those wishing to increase their creativity. Utilizing researched creativity tools and harnessing the power of a supportive group, you will: Ignite and connect to your creativity, execute goals through creative action, increase personal sense of well-being, and have fun.

Creativity Rx founder and workshop facilitator Kristin Frascella is an artist and a professor at Santa Barbara City College. She has led creativity groups for over 20 years.  Her mission is to create spaces that connect people to their creativity and purpose while having fun.  

Kristin’s belief is that creativity is everywhere and accessible to everyone.

City Council and Mayoral Candidates Forum

Community Arts Workshop, 631 Garden Street, Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative is delighted to bring back the tradition of hosting a candidates forum on the arts this October.

This forum for current City Council and Mayoral Candidates will focus on the arts and the City's role in promoting arts and culture. The forum provides an opportunity to hear from all candidates their position on supporting and sustaining the arts in Santa Barbara, and for voters to ask them questions on their positions. 

Moderator: Helene Schneider, former mayor of Santa Barbara, current Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative Board member.

​This event will be fully outdoors, in the CAW courtyard, and follow current COVID-19 regulations. 


​The Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative (SBAC) is a nonprofit committed to sustaining and growing all forms of the arts in Santa Barbara. Through long-term programs like the Community Arts Workshop, the Funk Zone Maps, Pianos on State, and in many smaller projects and collaborations, the SBAC works to sustain and grow the unique cultural ecology of our community. For many years, the SBAC has had a tradition of hosting a Candidate's Forum on the Arts during election years. 

The SBAC does not issue endorsements of candidates.
