Love Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American, multidisciplinary artist whose spiritual practice sublimates video, painting, film, poetry and sculpture. Foraging found, local materials into her works, she imbues flowers into her new painting series at the CAW. "I want to honor Santa Barbara, the place where I live, and celebrate it in my work directly. It feels like a new beginning." Her site-specific photographs are also abstracted from real life. "I like to delve deeply into the energy of a place, and discover how it shapes my work, rather than depict narratives explicitly."

The Art Process Presents:

Art for the Soul Retreat

May 4-6 at the Community Arts Workshop

This 3 day replenishing “Art for the Soul” retreat is an immersive experience in The Art Process with Creative Coach Kathy Leader. We will be exploring our inner creative voice through process-oriented writing, mixed-media art, community discussions, local activities and more. This is a great opportunity for self discovery amongst a supportive creative community.

The retreat is geared towards anyone who is curious about the creative path, whether you are just exploring your creativity for the first time or are a practicing artist who wants to deepen your practice. Our work focuses on abstract layered mixed-media and collage art. Optional activities include meditation, nature walks, sound bath, gallery-hopping and food!
