Call Out for a RACS representative for the
Rural and Remote Medical and Dental Credentialing Committee
Dr David Stoney, who is the RACS Committee representative for any surgical applications on the Rural and Remote Medical and Dental Credentialing Committee, has advised us that he will be retiring and the Committee is finding for a replacement for him.
This is a Co-opted position on the Committee and the representative would not need to attend. The meeting is held monthly, every third Tuesday of the month & as a Co-opted member, they would provide expert advice on the relevant applications prior to the meeting and assess whether the information that the applicant has submitted would be suitable for the practitioner to hold the requested SoCP. On average, the Committee would review 1 x surgical application per month.
If you are interested, please contact RRCSU-Credentialing@health.qld.gov.au.

Court Vindicates Doctor's Patient Management

In one court case, we assisted a plastic surgeon member to successfully defend allegations of negligence over his management of a patient who hadn’t complied with his advice to stop smoking.
