Dear <<First Name>>
First of all, a massive congratulations to all the recent successful fellowship exam candidates and condolences to those who didn't get through this time.  It is a particularly stressful period, for both the candidate and the candidate's loved ones, so to those who were successful, I hope you get to enjoy this post-exam period. I would also like to give thanks to all the people who attended, helped organise, and participated in the running of the  recent QLD charity ball, with over 100 attending a wonderful night.  As for upcoming events, for younger fellows and also the senior surgical trainees, a preparation for private practice workshop is being held this year in November 5, 6. Having attended this workshop in 2020, I can honestly say I found it a worthwhile and very much eye-opening experience. To the senior surgical trainees, I know that you already have a lot on your plate, but if you are interested in this workshop, please register.  Thanks again and I hope everyone continues to have a productive and fruitful rest of the year.

Warm regards
Dr Gian Capati

The biennial Queensland Charity Ball took place on Saturday 10 September to raise funds for the Foundation for Surgery Pacific Islands Program (PIP). It was a fantastic evening with over 100 attendees from across Queensland networking and socialising. Guests enjoyed posing for professional photographs in addition to bidding on silent auction items and purchasing raffle tickets, all for a great cause. Attendees were entertained by Opera Queensland, a live Kamancheh performance, and excellent speeches given by Prof. Chris Pyke, A/Prof. Michael Hollands and A/Prof. Bernard Whitfield.
