I use photography to help me in the exercise of lament, which is a form of grieving prayerfully, but also finding solid ground under all of the intricacies and vagaries of my own mental and spiritual health. If you'd like to learn more, I invite you to join me thru 2018, learning how to use photography for soul care. There will be some mountain top experiences for sure, but this is also a journey working through our more difficult phases.
People continue to comment on my body of photography. They tell me it helps them grow one’s appreciation for God’s beauty in nature and inspires the viewer to take a walk, or pause at their computer screen, and be restored. I call photography a spiritual discipline and it can be done well or haphazardly. National Geographic wrote an important article over a year ago about how the brain functions and performs better when exposed frequently to nature. This year I’m introducing additional pieces that can be acquired in addition to the calendar. My bonus features are my offer to dive deeper in the visual/spiritual journey.
Bonus features are additional components and will include:
1) downloadable hi-res files so you can make your own prints, view this year’s photos on your desktop or smart phone, having them closer and available in multiple formats. Hi-res prints here.
2) monthly digital instruction, videos, and how-tos with reflections on the contemplative visual journey. These will be rich in deeper, contemplative exercises and prompts to help you find your heart centered, composed, and poised for what life brings you. This will include tips on soulful photography, or ways to be more reflective in your own picture taking, even with your smart phone. These tips or ideas will be coupled with simple techniques I’ve developed in my own photography. For more information or to order this feature go here.
You won’t want to miss any of it. My commitment is to add value and quality to your own journey and learn some how-tos in photography. For starters watch the short video preview below and be refreshed. Thanks for joining me on this journey. Calendar preview video.
