Our Wedding: They came from the East & West
Please Give Generously to Support the on-going ministry of peacemaking
They Came from the East & West
So much has happened in 1 month. Sooo much! We got hitched and now are setting up our home! We hosted nearly 200 people at our wedding celebration. Many of our refugee friends from Syria were able to attend. It was a beautiful evening as we enjoyed watching the merging of two cultures to celebrate our love. This last month we've entertained and enjoyed family and friends from out of town (California, Alaska, Montana, and Connecticut), moved out of my previous residence, installed book shelves in our home (I've got a lot of books :/), and now turn our face to what life and ministry will look like together. Cari's launching a non-profit org (OneRefuge) to come around the refugee communities we love and serve. I continue engaging peacemaking work in MENA and locally in multi-faith bridge building. We're also preparing for our first int'l trip to the Middle East together. We're going to be over there for 12 weeks! Lot's of planning and networking involved. I'll be co-leading a multiple narrative tour for Pine Lake Covenant Church beginning in April and also teaching a class for North Park Theological Seminary on Peacemaking in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (remember all the books :-). We will also engage the glocal (which means both here and over there) nature of the refugee crisis from the Middle East, thru Europe to North America. Would love you to join us in praying for God to guide us as we launch. Thanks for joining us. And thanks for all the wonderful notes and likes on our posts. If you like good love stories, read Cari's original GoFundMe campaign where she shares about her leap--into marriage and also full-time ministry. We love you.

"This lovely man asked me to marry him and with happy tears I said YES!!

I can’t believe, at 49-ish, I am dancing around and giggling like a schoolgirl at the thought of spending my life with my best friend, my partner in crime, my co-conspirator in peacemaking, the one that sees the best in me and others and loves God with his life. Baby, I love your ways!!"   Cari Conklin

Please consider generously supporting what God is doing in peacemaking as a regular monthly commitment. While my work has expanded, I'm short of my funding goals by nearly 45%. I need to raise a substantial amount to keep advancing this work. Your support will help me do more bridge building with Muslims but will now also reach into North Africa and the Middle East with the new MENA team of Serve Globally of the Covenant Church. Please write me for more information. Thanks for joining me in this important journey. Here's more information on what I do.
