Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for being an EOS International Ambassador and championing our work in Central America. As an EOS Ambassador, you get special updates and access to EOS news before it’s shared with the general public. That’s why I am thrilled to be able to share some exciting news with you: EOS International is merging with the nonprofit International Rural Water Association (IRWA), a US-based nonprofit founded in the 1980's to provide clean water services in Central America.

I came across this organization while in Honduras 18-months ago and was impressed with their dedication to quality and their successful track record. IRWA has an in-country partner called ADEC that has been operating for the past ten years in Honduras. EOS thrives on collaboration, so I proposed the idea to share resources among our organizations in an effort to increase our impact and reduce administrative burdens. The result is that our two organizations are merging! IRWA was a volunteer-run organization consisting of a great team of board members and technical volunteers who supported and oversaw the work in Honduras. This Christmas, IRWA's founder Fred Stottlemyer passed away. Although conversations about merging had been already taking place, his passing expedited the process, allowing us to step in to continue the legacy he created in Honduras.

This merger serves as a collaborative uniting of organizations, through which each organization’s strengths will serve to build each other up. The EOS International name and organization will serve as the surviving corporation. The merger will also include the expansion of our activities into Honduras. Surprisingly, these new operations are located in southern Honduras - only five hours from our Nicaraguan office and closer than some of our own work within Nicaragua!

On Wednesday, we will be sharing this news publicly, as well as kicking off a campaign to raise $24,000 to support 40 communities with safe drinking water.

Again, thank you for all of your support throughout the years. I would love to hear from you. To be honest, a year ago I did not know that mergers even took place within nonprofits. With this experience, I am a firm believer in sharing resources, to the point of legally merging organizations, in order to increase impact and efficiency.

Thank you again for being an Ambassador of EOS and clean water solutions.

Saludos,
