New provincial health orders View this email in a web browser.
To our CAN members,

We are excited to welcome you into Fall programs next month! Our team has been working to understand how the new BC Vaccine Card will affect CAN participants.

Here is how we anticipate the new mandate will affect CAN programs across age groups and in various environments:
Early Years & Children's Programs (3-12yrs)
Proof of vaccination:
  • Will NOT be required for CAN participants under age 12.
  • Will NOT be required for parents/guardians in parent-participant swim.
  • WILL likely be required for parents/guardians entering all other program facilities.
Parents/guardians will be advised if this applies to their program facility.
Youth & Adult Programs (13+yrs)
Proof of vaccination:
  • WILL be required for indoor fitness programs.
ie. Fitness, Try-It, some monthly events
  • Will NOT be required for all outdoor programs.
ie. Walking Club, Outdoor Active, some monthly events
  • Will NOT be required for individuals under 21 accessing certain indoor programs.
Participants will be advised if this applies to their program.
Additional considerations
Beginning October 24, proof of full vaccination will be required.
One is considered fully vaccinated 7 days after their 2nd dose. Note that all multi-week programs this Fall have sessions after October 24.

In addition to provincial health orders, CAN will abide by any additional protocols that our partnered facilities implement this Fall.
For example, community centres, pools, arenas and schools may have additional exit/entrance procedures, adjusted washroom availability, etc.

As always, provincial health orders are subject to change.
We will keep you updated every step of the way this Fall and beyond.
Next steps
Each participant registered this Fall will receive further info in early-October.
Program- and facility-specific health and safety protocols will be included in emails sent out before your first session.

We recognize that many of our members are not vaccinated.
If you think that you will no longer be able to participate in CAN in-person programming this Fall, please email info@canucksautism.ca as soon as possible.

We are committed to finding the safest possible way for our members to enjoy CAN programming, while respecting each individual's choices and concerns.

Visit canucksautism.ca/guide to see our full range of virtual and outdoor programming, in which proof of vaccination is not required. To submit a late registration request, visit canucksautism.ca/late.
Alongside these new orders, we will be continuing our enhanced safety measures at CAN programs.

These include regular hand hygiene and cleaning of high-touch surfaces, physical distancing, health screening and adaptations to curriculum.

As always, the safety of everyone involved in CAN programming remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to navigate the health situation in BC.

Please let us know if you have any questions at all.
