What are your principles? What is your constitution? A manifesto is a great way to understand our self heuristic. It is making shape – a temporary at that – of the energy that is making all of those neurons fire in our head. It is a guessing game of where your creative mind might go given the next situation. Will you be more abstract or more applied in the face of a signal, will you seek order or wisdom, will you solve, or seek to guide?
A manifesto is like having a translator between the self heuristic and the identity heuristic. It can help with any dissonances between what we do, and what we actually want to be doing. It can give us language to better articulate any frictions or resistance we have with others, and more importantly it can help us navigate in unknown situations, where there is no map to look for orientation – as is the case now.
