Giving Tuesday, HIP Saved, Meet Timia, RootSkills 2018
Save the date!
November 27, 2018 is #GivingTuesday
The opening day of the giving season
The R.E.C. brings people together to build healthy, sustainable and just communities across Worcester through community farmers markets, youth programs (YouthGROW), community gardens (UGROW) and more. You can help support this mission by donating to the REC on this Giving Tuesday.
The Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) Receives More Funding!
It's hip to be healthy! HIP was one of the reasons our regular-season standing and mobile farmers markets were successes!
Thanks to the victorious efforts made by advocates, $1 million in funding has been applied to HIP, meaning the program can operate through the winter farmers market season! What does this mean for REC markets?
Our winter mobile market will begin in December 2018, with exact locations, times and end dates to be determined. We will post on our website and social media by the end of the month, stay tuned for details!
Meet Timia, one of our YouthGROWers! In this short video, she explains why she loves the REC and what it's done for her!
Want to get involved with YouthGROW? Stop by our Oread Street YouthGROW Farm each Monday in November, 2pm-5pm to volunteer and meet some of our employed youth!
Join Us for the 2018 RootSkills Conference!
