AWP at Ozwater22


Over one extremely busy week at Ozwater'22, AWP delivered a panel session and the first ever International Stream in partnership with the Australian Water Association; met a large number of partners; and made a contribution to building the water for development community in Australia. AWP collaborated with WaterAid to present messaging around partnering to improve climate-resilient sustainable water management in the Indo-Pacific region. Read more.

 

Partners Workshop 2022

From 8–10 March, International and Australian Partners joined the Annual AWP Partners Workshop for a range of interactive and informative sessions and networking opportunities. Thank you to all our speakers and in particular to Richie Allan from the Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation for a compelling welcome to Country and on Country experience at the Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary, along with Phil Duncan and Brad Moggridge; the Australian Ambassador for the Environment Jamie Isbister from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for opening remarks; and expert facilitator Tamerlaine Beasley from Beasley Intercultural.

AWP at Dubai

The World Expo in Dubai took place between 1 October 2021 and 31 March 2022 with 192 participating countries. The Australian Pavilion, led by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, hosted a targeted program of events that showcased the best of Australia. AWP delivered three major Australian sponsored events at the Expo. Read more.

Scaling up urban nature-based solutions

Designing natural systems in cities has multiple benefits—from flood control and water quality, to cooling and greening effects, and social and health benefits for surrounding communities. AWP, DFAT and the World Bank supported an initiative to identify, evaluate and realise the benefits of Nature-based Solutions for integrated urban flood management in the Mekong region. Read more.

Strengthening water cooperation in Lao PDR

Australia is supporting the development of a National Water Resources Management Strategy in Lao PDR through a consortium of AWP partners led by AMPERES together with eWater, Australian Rivers Institute, Truii and the National University of Laos working closely with the Laos Department of Water Resources. Read more.
