Meanwhile, I am three-fourths of the way through packing for next week's trip to Denver and the Romance Writers of America's national conference, where they will be presenting the RITA awards for best books of 2017. In case you didn't hear me screaming back in March when the finalists were announced, Tougher in Texas is a nominee, so on July 19th I'll be gussied up in my sparkly best. The awards ceremony is streamed live online, so I'll be sending out a reminder and a link for anyone who wants to drink along with me.
As for the packing...by three-fourths I mean I've packed my shoes. One whole bag full. Just shoes. I'll figure out what to wear with them approximately an hour before we pull out next Monday, and probably have to buy at least one shirt along the way to replace something I forgot.
If you're in the Denver area and would like to meet up to say hello, get a copy of one of the Texas Rodeo books signed, or just admire my awesome pink I Mugged Barbie shoes, let me know. I'm sure you'll be able to find me loitering in the lobby or the bar at the downtown Sheraton in between workshops and other stuff.
But between now and then we have four rodeos, so if you'll excuse me, I have a date at the team roping practice arena with a seriously tall, dark and handsome dude--my horse, Captain.
What, you thought I was talking about my husband?
