A quick reminder of the project
  • We're currently submitting a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for £900,000 to help us restore the Pump Room Gardens.
  • If successful, improvements would include restoration of the bandstand and York Bridge, new flowerbeds and trees and improved paths, lighting, seating and drainage.
  • The funding would also support a five-year programme of events for the whole community to enjoy.

We've had a great response to our public survey, with hundreds of people telling us how they use the Gardens and what they'd like to see there in the future.

There's still time to fill it in if you haven't already - complete it here or forward this email to a friend.

In January the space under the bandstand was opened up for the first time in 50 years to reveal 1,725 mm (5'8") of headroom.

If the space can be made safe and dry it could be used to store seating and modern sound equipment.

The Linden Arches were first erected in 1875 and were restored in 2012.
