We've really enjoyed meeting members of the public at our exhibitions over the last few weeks. We've spoken to over 100 people about the plans for the restoration of the Pump Room Gardens so far and the overall response has been very enthusiastic! If you haven't had the chance to come along and look at the plans yet, don't worry - they'll be on show again this Saturday (25 April) in the Pump Rooms.

Friends of the Pump Room Gardens

Public exhibition: Saturday 25 April

We'll be holding the third and final exhibition about the Pump Room Gardens restoration this Saturday, 25 April. We'll be in the Pump Rooms foyer, next to the Tourist Information desk, from 11:00 to 15:00 so come along and tell us what you think. We'd love to hear your thoughts!
What do people like most about the Pump Room Gardens?

It's been very interesting seeing what members of the public like most about the Pump Room Gardens - both through our surveys and feedback at the exhibitions we've held so far. The most popular responses have been:

1. The Gardens' green, open space
2. The events held there, such as the Peace Festival and Food Festival
3. The bandstand
4. Trees
What improvements would people like to see in the Pump Room Gardens in the future?

In terms of the improvements people would like to see in the Gardens, a few key themes have been mentioned again and again. They include:
  • Restoration of the bandstand and bringing it back to use
  • Clearing the riverbank to open up the view of the river
  • Improving drainage to reduce water logging
  • More events
What improvements would you like to see? Share your thoughts at our exhibition on Saturday, email us or tweet us @PumpRoomGardens
Did you know..?
In 1967 the Leamington Society offered to paint the bandstand. The Borough Corporation,  which was the predecessor to Warwick District Council, accepted the offer and supplied the paint.
