Hello,

April looks set to be an exciting month as we exhibit our plans for the restoration of the Pump Room Gardens to the public for the first time. We're keen to hear your thoughts, so do come along and let us know what you think!

We're also looking for people to volunteer with us at these events to help us talk to members of the public about the project. You can find out more about this and other opportunities to volunteer with us here.

Public exhibitions

Our public exhibition events this month will give people the chance to have a look at the plans for the Gardens and see how they are progressing.

The proposed dates and locations for the events are Saturday 11 April (North Lodge in Jephson Gardens), Friday 17 April (Foyer of Pump Rooms) and Saturday 25 April (Foyer of Pump Rooms).

The plans will be on display from 11am – 3pm.
How might the Pump Room Gardens look in the future?

These sketches will be on display during the exhibitions and offer an idea of how the Gardens might look in the future. This sketch of the western side of the Gardens includes a representation of a ‘rain garden’ or water garden to assist with drainage in that area - and there is also a focal point feature sculpture indicated.
This image shows the area nearest the Pump Rooms with an orientation point inlaid into the ground.

We need your help!

Could you spare a couple of hours per month to volunteer with the Pump Room Gardens project at some point in the future? There are a wide range of opportunities available, from marketing and events management to wildlife gardening and leading guided walks, and no experience is required.
