Every Kid in a Park Spring Tour
OAK has announced its Spring Every Kid in a Park program lineup! OAK members will host a series of events throughout the year to connect thousands of fourth graders with their natural and cultural heritage.
The tour kicked off with several events in March. The new California Outdoor Engagement Coalition lead an Every Kid in a Park launch event in Richmond, CA, engaging over 150 participants.
Former NFL star running back Marshawn Lynch joined the fourth graders at Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park to encourage them to get outside and visit their parks!
In DC, the National Park Trust and Sierra Club partnered to host an Every Kid in a Park event at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House in celebration of Women's History Month. Fourth graders from Washington School for Girls learned about gender justice and environmental stewardship at the event, and received their Every Kid in a Park park passes.
