Dear People of Hope,
You may have heard that our online worship partnership with St Andrews is winding down. A team from Hope is planning or our return to in-person worship. Watch for details about that next week. In the meantime, join us for the final 2 partnership worships.
This Sunday, June 20, we celebrate a family-friendly worship service. We'll hear the story of Jesus calming a storm. We'll see pictures kids have drawn. And we'll all look for ways Jesus speaks, "Peace, Be Still," in our own lives. Invite any families with children to join for this service.
Then next Sunday, June 26, we'll celebrate our final worship service with St Andrews. We'll reflect on how God has blessed this partnership. If you would like to offer a "faith share" or reflection, please reach out to me, or simply consider what you might share. We'll be especially reflecting on these questions:
What are your grateful for in this partnership?
How have you seen God at work in this partnership?
What are you hopeful for in the future of this partnership?
Father Tim and I will be sharing our reflections on these questions as well.
Join us for these worship services, or other events online or in person.
Peace of Christ, Pastor Julie

Synod-wide Bible Study to Commemorate the Emmanuel 9 Thursday June 17, 7pm
The Metro D.C. Synod Racial Equity Team invites you to pause on Thursday night, June 17, 2021, at 7:00 PM (EST) as we commemorate the 6th anniversary of the massacre of the Emanuel 9 with a communal Bible study. Mindful of the deep presence of God at Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, we will read the scripture that was part of the bible study in 2015, that night when Dylan Roof was welcomed as a stranger. Rooted in the Word and in small groups, we will ask what was God saying then and what is God saying now?
Attendance will be limited to allow for meaningful small group participation, but all materials will be posted after the event to allow for future congregational and other group use. Learn more and log on here: http://metrodcelca.org/emanuel92021/.
Property Development Discernment Process check out the bulletin board for more info:
This past Sunday, Hope's council shared a Property Progress Report. Leaders shared about hiring lawyers, protecting Hope's interests in this project, learning about zoning regulations, considering affordable housing options, assessing the value of the land, and where we go from here. If you missed the conversation, you'll be able to find the recording on the google drive soon. And please continue praying that the Spirit guides our process.
