Continuing to share Easter Joy with our neighbors in College Park
Dear People of Hope,

This weekend we celebrated Christ's Resurrection with Holy Week services, outdoor communion and zoom worship.  It didn't feel like usual- but it did feel like Easter, at least to me.  Thank you to everyone who was a part of making this a holy week, indeed.  Thank you to readers, musicians, tech support; thank you to the Easter Bunny volunteers who hid eggs for children to find on Sunday morning; thank you to all who attended worship in one form or another.

We live this message of a Risen Christ, an embodied Christ, when we are able to show up in community.  Hope has continued to grow throughout the pandemic, with new individuals and families finding Hope online, reaching out through the website, and connecting however they can.  Some of these newcomers attended in-person worship for the first time on Easter morning, meeting each other in body, just as we meet Christ in bread and wine.  I am grateful for God's risen presence.  And I am grateful for each of you.

Thank be to God,
   Pastor Julie

Easter Message from Bishop Leila Ortiz

Watch our local bishop share a hopeful message of Christ Risen.  She acknowledges the joy of Easter, even while some of us are still in the grief of Good Friday or the perceived silence of Holy Saturday.  Jesus is the resurrection, Jesus is the new life we need.
movies@hope presents Paths of Glory
Friday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Join us as movies@hope Paths of Glory, directed by the great Stanley Kubrick.  Kirk Douglas stars as a World War I officer who defends his soldiers against charges of cowardice after they refuse to continue a suicidal attack.  Hope's own historian and film expert Tim Mulligan returns to introduce this anti-war classic from 1957, honored by the National Film Registry as a significant piece of our historical, cultural, and aesthetic film heritage.
