Dear People of Hope,

Tuesday night, people signed on to Zoom to hear Hope's congregation council present about their recent recommendation.  The council recommended that Hope enter a discernment process about a possible sale and re-development of Hope's property.  Many of you were there- 34 households, including 40 individuals signed onto zoom.  Many of you are curious, but couldn't attend this week.

Council is sharing several resources that will keep you connected.  Tuesday night's session, and all council meetings on this theme, opened with a prayer and discernment tool.  We spend 5-10 minutes listening to prayerful music and praying with these scripture verses, prayers and guiding questions.  Please join council in praying now, using this tool.

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not your woe!
- Jeremiah 29:11

Faith gives substance to our hopes and makes us certain of realities we do not see.
- Hebrews 11:1

O God, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the endings, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils and joys unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

God, our refuge and strength, you have bound us together in a common life. In all our discernment, help us to engage one another without assumption or fear, to listen for your voice amid uncertain claims, and to work together with mutual respect and curiosity; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Find the reminder of the documents all in this google drive, more will be added over time:

Each document is password protected.   The password is the same for each document, so you only need to memorize it once.  Tune in for Sunday worship or email Beth in the office for the password.  We share these resources freely with people connected to Hope and Humble Walk.  But we won't share our research and discernment with the whole world.  (You may also request paper copies of these documents from Beth in the office).

Council also welcomes your questions and thoughts on this topic.  Please submit any questions by clicking the below link. You may also email questions to Beth in the office; she will submit them by the form.  This will help council keep everything organized:

In summary:
   1) Join council in praying
   2) Find documents in a google drive; listen for the password
   3) Share questions or comments by the question form
