Addressing barriers to learning so students succeed.

Erika F. Torres, Executive DirectorDear SHHS Staff,

As we wrap up the first semester of the 2016-17 school year, SHHS is continuing to work towards greater integration and collaboration across all departments.  SHHS will continue its focus on developing our performance management infrastructure that will help us monitor the progress in meeting our goals, inform our practice and promote the importance of our work.

We will continue to plan and prepare for our SHHS integration meetings so that we can provide an opportunity for collaboration across departments.

Thank you for all of the work you do, everyday, for our students, families, communities and staff. I wish you happy holidays!

SHHS RESOURCE FAIR WAS A SUCCESS!
This year's Resource Fair was on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the California Endowment. This year's theme was  "Integration is Key to Student Success." Over 250 participants from across the District had access to information from over 70 district programs and community agencies.
On November 4th, Crisis Counseling & Intervention Services (CCIS) organized the 31st Annual District Crisis Team Training, attended by over 260 crisis team members from throughout the District. Each Local District selects 35 staff each year, across various disciplines to participate on their Local District Crisis Team, making themselves available to assist schools in the aftermath of critical incidents. Additionally, CCIS unveiled the revised Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention policy bulletin, BUL-2637.2, including some exciting new changes and attachments. For the bulletin, attachments and handouts in other languages, visit http://suicideprevention.lausd.net.
