Hello comrade <<First Name>>

We are having a stall again at Sheffield Christmas market (until December 24 - opposite Virgin Money on Fargate - come and see us!). We are pleased to say that merchandise featuring Jeremy Corbyn is still very popular, with many customers hoping - not without good reason - that we might see a prime minister Corbyn before long (though many also expressed their dismay at the fact that he will be a "prisoner of his own right wing MPs"). We live in interesting and fluid times, for sure!

Encouragingly, we have also noted an increased interest in the revolutionary posters we are selling and for some reason especially Lenin 'sweeping the scum off the earth' is proving to been very popular.

Other bestsellers (ORDER NOW to make sure you receive them before Xmas):
  • Everything to do with Karl Marx, especially our new stylised poster and the matching greeting card.
  • Our updated 2019 working class history calendarOne customer was particularly taken with the page for March: "There's a picture of the Paris Commune next to Robbie Fowler!", she laughed. It was on March 27 1997 that the Liverpool footballer lifted his shirt to show his support for striking dockers in Liverpool - a great, uplifting moment, though perhaps not quite as history-defining as the as the tens of thousands of communards taking over Paris for six weeks from March until May 1871 (which had a great political impact on Karl Marx and Frederick Engels)!
  • Our Corbyn and Marx/Engels wrapping paper is being snapped up by people who want to send prezzies to lefty friends and family members who might appreciate the politics of the packaging … and to rightwingers who will be (at least) mildly infuriated by it.
  • Our new Frida Kahlo mugs and posters. Other mugs we stock feature Einstein, Malcom X, Sylvia Pankhurst, Banksy's images, and of course, Jeremy Corbyn.
In its own small way, this show of enthusiasm on one small stall in the centre of Sheffield reflects the paradigm shift in politics; a significant move left by a whole section of contemporary British society. And it’s intergenerational. A lot of young people were enthusiastic shoppers with us; but a high percentage of them also gave us variations on the theme of ‘I really like Corbyn; but my dad/mum/uncle/aunt really loves him and that’s who the present is for …’ Exciting times, for comrades of all ages!
