Dear colleagues,

In this pre-holiday newsletter we are traditionally addressing the issues of stress and emotional burn-out among social and humanitarian workers.

The evidence says that professionals working with people and especially those demonstrating compassion a lot are in the risk group for emotional burnout. We tend to not notice the symptoms or misinterpret them as tiredness or stress. It is especially important for managers to be able to notice signs of burnout among employees so as to take action.

Below you will find a test to measure whether you are at a risk of burning out, and a few resources on how to recognise burn-out and avoid it. We have also included a recording of our very popular webinar on emotional health of social workers and a free online course on Mindfulness for Wellbeing and Peak Performance, that will start on February 5th.
