Dear Colleagues,

This newsletter is published on the occasion of EU Anti-Trafficking Day (18 October) and reflects upon the response to trafficking in human beings.

Trafficking is a worldwide issue (a 150 billion dollar business, around 40 million people are victims of slavery and 30% are children). In recent months we have seen a rise in the influx of migrants and refugees in our region. For child protection professionals  (especially working in law enforcement, social services and other frontline positions) this situation has been overwhelming. Many potential victims may go unnoticed among the migrant and refugee populations as their identification remains sporadic, and so vulnerable people are not referred to appropriate service providers.

Please find below practical guidance to learn more about helping victims! We highly recommend our e-learning on the ChildHub Academy to knokw how to identify, communicate and refer presumed victims of human trafficking: https://childhub.org/tram

Under the focus topic in this newsletter, you'll find some highlights of the most important materials from the past two weeks on ChildHub: Upcoming eventsPublicationsNews and Vacancies

Additional resources are available on the Trafficking in Person thematic page of ChildHub.

We look forward to seeing you on the webinar! In the meantime, make sure to follow us on facebook to stay in touch!

Yours,
Child Protection Hub Team
