Happy June!

Oh man, so much has happened since my last newsletter! The pictures above are of the proofs of The Loneliest Girl in the Universe, which have now gone out to bloggers. I was very, very nervous about it, but everyone has been lovely so far.

I'm really excited for you all to read it in September (or possibly sooner? More to come on this soon....!) You can find out more about the book here

For any Americans out there, The Next Together is being published in hardback next week! You can get it on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, and it looks like this:

I would love to see pictures of it, if you see it in shops. I almost can't believe that it's finally being released!

I am having SO MUCH FUN posting the blog of Commander Romy Silvers from Loneliest on Wattpad and Tumblr. You can see Romy's updates as she sends them back to NASA on Earth, as well as fanfictions she writes about her favourite TV show. It takes place over the course of a year, so the entries currently posting are from about halfway through the book.

I also have a new cover to show you - the German edition of The Next Together, called 'Forever Again' and out with Loewe in September in hardback and audiobook (my first audiobook! I'm SO EXCITED!)

Free stuff

There's a day left on a competition over at my blog to win a signed proof copy of The Loneliest Girl in the Universe - enter today to win!

If you leave a review of any of my books on a retail site like Amazon, Waterstones or Barnes & Noble, I will send you a signed, personalised bookplate. Fill out this form to claim your bookplate.

Cool things I'm into right now

I'm really into email newsletters at the minute (and if you're reading this, I guess you are too!). I love that they're a great way to get a social media fix, without getting sucked into mindless scrolling. They always contain lots of interesting links to things that get me thinking.

As I've become a bit of a connoisseur of them, I thought I'd share some of my favourites. All links go to the latest entry, where possible, and you can also subscribe at the link. My favourites have *** next to them.

Space Fashion

I've also been obsessed with assembling the best space-themed outfit I can, ready for my events about The Loneliest Girl in the Universe. Here's what I've got so far:
If you come across any other glorious space fashion, please send it my way...I'm gonna need a full wardrobe. #authorontour

Books I've been reading recently

I've been experimenting with a new style of reviewing over on my youtube channel, where I combine garden tours with book round ups! I'm going to do this every month, so if that's your thing, you can subscribe. Here's the latest video:

I love this picture of Katherine and Matthew by Deni! It’s based on a drawing by Alice Oseman and I’m obsessed. Thank you Deni!
I also love this moodboard for The Last Beginning, made by Arianne. It's so cute I can't handle it. Clove and Ella are so perfect - and there's Tom's bike! Thank you!

In April, I was lucky enough to go to the Eden Project for the Kernow Book Awards, for which The Next Together was nominated. I got to watch students give a performance based on my book, with lyrics to White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army changed to be about Kate and Matt's different lives.

They sang, acted, cheerleaded as bacteria (!) and dressed up as Kate and Matt in all their lives. It was basically the best day ever. I couldn't resist sharing some of the lyrics with you. Listen along while the song plays to get an idea of how it sounded (aka, amazing!):
In 1745/The Jacobites came and they held them back/Katherine and Matthew/Took their time to gain . each other’s trust/And their luck was against them/They were a different class/

The rebels came for Carlisle/They had to hold on tight/Matthew’s life was taken by a gun/But it was not the end

In 1854/Kate dressed as a boy to find employment/Joined Matthew on a boat/Heading to a warzone to reveal the truth/And Matthew found she was a girl/And so they had to fight/But Kate got into trouble/And got speared to death

Thank you to Humphrey Davy School in Penzance!

I hope you enjoyed my newsletter. I'd love to hear your feedback, either by email or on social media. I'll be back in August with more news about my writing!
