The Hounds continue to get the very best care we can give them from better quality food and treats to new beds and coats. RDRP really does have the best people involved in every aspect of running our facility. A HUGE woof & a wag of appreciation & gratitude to ALL of you that made the greyhounds lives more special and meaningful in 2016!

We have many new and amazing greys coming into the Adoption Center, as well as the sweethearts that have been with us for awhile! They will all need the tender & loving care of our exceptional volunteers, foster families and supporters like you!

Ken Duke TommyDuke Adopts Ken

Ken Smith made it official today and made Duke a very happy hound!

After fostering Stockade (called Duke at the AC) through his tail surgeries, Ken has failed Fostering 101 and adopted him today. Now known as Comet, the very handsome 2 year old red fawn boy will be joining Ken’s other grey Tommy. The two get along beautifully and love living the retired life with Ken (who is not retired).

Congratulations Ken, Tommy and Comet from your RDRP family. Not sure who adopted who here but we know it was a GREYT mutual arrangement!

Foster Fail Tail -

Ken Smith is a long time volunteer at RDRP and always goes above and beyond. He saw a need and decided to share his home with Comet and his boy Tommy.

Ken exuberantly reported that "the very first day he came over and laid his head in my lap and I knew he was my furever boy right then, there was no going back! The only thing better than having a greyhound is having ANOTHER greyhound!"

CC adoptedCC Finds His Forever Home

CC has been adopted!!!

Career Criminal (CC) has found his forever home and we are all so thrilled. Cyndi and Mike Toale have failed fostering 101, much to CC”s delight. CC is a very loving 3 year old red fawn boy.

He will be joining a wonderful family and will have a new brother, Kiowa, and smaller sister Snickers to play with and enjoy his well deserved forever home. Congratulations to the CC and Mike and Cyndi from your RDRP family!

Foster Fail Tail -

I just thought you would be happy to know that CC has found the most wonderful home and has settled in perfectly. Cyndi (long term volunteer & Board member) & Mike stepped up to foster him just for the 10 -12 day post op recuperation period and failed ...YAY!!!CC and kiowa

Cyndi and Mike are so happy with CC...she was almost in tears telling me how CC has taken over to help their blind boy, Kiowa. CC walks all around the yard right next to Kiowa...almost like a seeing eye dog. When they are around the pool CC walks inside, closest to the pool...and Kiowa is right by his side.  The Toales are totally in love with him!

New mom Cyndi reports ~

"This is what they do best. NAPS! CC seems to know Kiowa (brindle) needs some guidance & follows him outside & when going by the pool. They are both very special along with Snickers who has her own agenda.

They say that I am a very well-mannered, soft and super kindhearted fellow. I believe I have found my furever home and am SOOOOOO excited to be adopted soon!
Fostering greys allows them a better chance at finding furever homes quicker! The life of a greyhound waiting for his or her forever home is often long, lonely & uncertain. People come and go… and the beautiful grey waits. RDRP is trying to get our kidz nueter/spay procedures done and we can not do that unless we have foster families following the procedure.

RDRP will help make your foster experience a meaningful one! Learn more about FOSTERING here...

Q- Our happy home loves to celebrate the holidays. We want to make sure our houndies stay safe in all the excitement. What should we be extra careful with?

A- Cooked bones can splinter in the digestive tract and cause internal bleeding. If you do table food treats please be sure there are no bones, fatty meat scraps or toxic foods grapes, raisins, currants, etc.

Be aware of poisonous plants like poinsettia, holly, lilies and mistletoe.

Forego the tinsel on the tree, and be mindful of all hanging and tempting objects
Please check all toys and treats for size and safety from all the goodies Santa Paws leaves for your pooches.
