You are the Selling broker for a 50’ 2000 Viking Express M/Y “The Office” listed for sale by Florida’s Finest Brokerage House in the amount of $250,000.  She is exactly what your client has been looking for.  You contact the listing broker and schedule a showing.  You drive 4 hours with your client to the other side of Florida.  On the docks, Seller and the Listing Broker meet you and the Buyer. Your client the Buyer sees the boat and is sold.  The Seller learns your client is paying cash.  Everyone is happy.

Brokerage Sales Volume Down 3 Percent

In June, typically the high-water mark of the year for the yacht brokerage market, a total of 3,523 boats were sold in the U.S, and as in May, this was a lower number than in the same month of the previous year. According to YachtWorld member brokerages reporting in SoldBoats, sales were down 3 percent from June 2015. The total price of the boats sold was $398 million, also 3 percent lower than the year before.

Discover Boating: Chairman's Note

It's been a busy year for Discover Boating as I hope it was for all of you. Compliments of Hurricane Matthew and a very quiet Friday here in Mount Dora, Florida, I thought I'd take time to share how Discover Boating impacted our mission in 2016 of attracting first-time buyers.

But first, an update on a recent assessment by research firm Staler-Nagle, who assessed Discover Boating to determine whether the campaign has remained true to its mission. Statler-Nagle's report came back very favorable, concluding that Discover Boating is a well optimized campaign that's helping to ensure a future for our industry by attracting first-time boat buyers. They also identified some areas for improvement and recommended that the campaign better communicate what it does by focusing its reporting on business outcomes vs. outputs.
