I would like to express my deep gratitude to those who contributed to Saturday’s appeal, and to all who wrote emails of support and encouragement after last Thursday’s A Pause for Beauty (At the end of a journey, peace and gratitude).
It is energizing to know that so many appreciate and gain something from this work. I continue work on the two books with renewed focus and enthusiasm.
So far, of the just over 11,000 readers of A Pause for Beauty, 121 have contributed a total of $3750. The money will help A Pause for Beauty continue, and will support work on the two books.
Thanks for being along on this journey with me, and for supporting it.
A couple of days ago, reading notes from my journals of years past for the books I am working on, I came across a John Squadra poem I hadn’t read in a while. A particular line from it has been very much on my mind ever since:
All that matters is what you love
and what you love is who you are
and who you are is where you are
and where you are is where you will be
when death takes you across the river.
You can't avoid the journey but
you can wake up... now
and see where you've been
and where you are going.
- John Squadra, from the poem “Circle Of The One,” in the book This Ecstasy
I liked the line “and what you love is who you are” so much, I added it to the front page of the Roderick MacIver Arts website.
With deep gratitude for the support and goodwill of so many,
Roderick W. MacIver
